Thoughts on Halloween Candy

Halloween is upon us and that means costumes and candy. I recently came across an article that rated the types of candy from better to not as good for us. (Notice how I’m reframing the good vs bad binary?)

Ever since I was a young girl, I never cared for sweet, sugary candies like jelly beans or gummy bears. In fact Twizzlers make me nauseous. I know I might get some push back on this one. Instead I’ve tended to gravitate toward candy bars with nuts.

Well I guess I just intuitively knew that certain foods (candy is a food group, right??) were better for me. My body told me that. In this article the author talks about our choices when it comes to candy and places them in nutritional order.

Life is about choices. And like the Oscar Wilde quote, moderation may be overrated. Enjoy your candy. All of it. It is Halloween after all!
