Q: Do I have to know how to swim?

A: It is NOT necessary to know how to swim to participate in aquatic physical therapy. The maximum depth of the water is 4 ½ feet. We work with all of our patients one-to-one and will stay in the pool with you at a depth you feel most comfortable.

Q: What can I expect at my first visit?

A: A licensed physical therapist will complete and initial evaluation with you to become familiar with you and your injury. You and your therapist will discuss your therapy goals and establish a treatment plan specific for you.

Q: What if I don’t need pool therapy?

A: Our staff provides both land and aquatic based physical therapy. We will tailor your treatment to whatever your needs may be.

Q: What should I wear?

A: The majority of people wear bathing suits for their aquatic sessions, though some choose to wear shorts and a t-shirt. Please wear whatever you are most comfortable in.

Q: How long is the average session?

A: A typical appointment will last 45-60 minutes.

Q: Does insurance cover aquatic therapy?

A: Yes the majority of insurances will cover your aquatic therapy sessions.

Q: Will all of my sessions be in the pool?

A: Typically your first appointment will be an evaluation which will be completed on land. As you make progress and are able we will work to progress your treatment from the pool to land.

Our aquatic center is located in the "Red Mall" off Susie Wilson Road in Essex Junction.
